War of 2016

With the recent announc…facebook post from Jeb Bush, many are wondering just how intense this GOP Primary will get. Nothing will ever be as ridiculous as 2012 and nothing as heated as 1976. But with much speculation that Former. Mass. Governor Mitt Romney, 2012 Republican Presidential Nominee, is reinventing himself and is planning third run (much like a certain Ronald Reagan in 68, 76, 80) and second nomination (like then Vice President Nixon in 60 and 68), a primary between candidates who align across the conservative spectrum will be one historians and news commentators will talk about for years to come.

The GO(TEA)P

Members of the Tea Party make the case that Republican “moderates” can’t win the Presidency, using Fmr. Sen. Bob Dole in 1996, Sen. John McCain in 2008, and Gov. Mitt Romney in 2012 as their proof.

More so, conservatives have had a difficult time earning respect among “establishment” republicans. The Party has often had two distinctive sects, as of now it is know as the “Establishment” and the “Tea Party” but in the times of Governor Nelson Rockefeller, Governor Ronald Reagan, Senator Barry Goldwater, and Vice President Richard Nixon, it was known as the “Conservative” (Traditionalist) and “Liberal” Wings (Rockefeller Republicans) of the party. Men like Michigan Governor and Father to 2012 nominee and 2016 likely, George Romney were apart of the Liberal Wing and men like the actor turned citizen politician and then Governor of California, Ronald Reagan was a rising warrior for the Conservative Wing’s crusade to take back the party.

Presidential hopefuls like Senators Rand Paul, son of former Congressman Ron Paul, and Ted Cruz are the product of a strong libertarian/fiscal conservative movement within the party in 2010 aka the “Taxed Enough Already” Party – TEA Party. Libertarians have been making their voices known and have hurt Republican and Democrats alike in elections that cane down to just a few points. the section of the party, or third head if you will, will only grow stronger as 2016 grows nearer.

The War To Come

The Republican Primary for the 2016 Presidential Nomination will most likely spill blood because these party divide will be stronger than ever, with the likes of Governors Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush going up against Senators Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Governors Bobby Jindal (Louisiana), Brian Sandoval (Nevada), Mike Pence (Indiana), Scott Walker (Wisconsin) and the lone Doctor Ben Carson.

2016 will be the year where Moderate Republicans and Conservative Republicans will clash in a way the Party hasn’t seen since 1976 when California Governor Ronald Reagan primaried then sitting President Gerald Ford.

So many Americans are ready for fresh leadership, and both parties seem to only have old dogs to run. Sarah Palin recently beckoned the question “Is Hillary a new Democrat, or an old one?” A good question. Is Jeb Bush a Conservative Republican or a Rockefeller Republican?

Is there anyone else out there? Who can win? Can we win?

Rand Wilkinson: Does He Ever Stop Campaigning?

In 1998, Polk County School Board Memeber, Randy Wilkinson abruptly resigned to seek state office – and since, has ran for every office under the sun – then after a crushing loss in 2010 for Congress as a Third Party Candidate he’s crawling back to the ballot for School Board once again, right where he started.

Over the years he has been identified as a far “right-winger” who wanted to implement corporeal punishment in Polk Middle Schools and has been a Luke warm supporter of Chartered Schools, calling them a “necessary evil” as a result of Public School Failures.

What should Wilkinson say to Deborah Wright? She is currently on the Board. Her husband, prior to his death, was one of the key founders of the Lake Wales Chartered School System which a been has shinning example of the merits to charted schooling.

In a recent interview with Business Voice , Wilkinson called himself a “Very Conservative Liberal.”
What in the world?

Can we trust him?

His behavior leads the Factor to say NO.

•Wilkinson was ARRESTED for assaulting his wife. (2002)
•Wilkinson was ARRESTED for driving under the influence. (2006)

With regard to the DUI, this wasn’t the first time his ability to handle a motor-vehicle had come into question along with his abuse of county vehicles in his reckless “need for speed.”

Attention like this certainly would make a parent shiver if they knew he took a part in the school system.

In 2010, Wilkinson threatened to sabotage fellow conservative Dennis Ross’ election against Democrat Lori Edwards as a “TEA Party” candidate. So, such efforts were made by Newt Gingrich to prevent Wilkinson from splitting the conservative vote and handing a victory to a liberal who would’ve lost in regular R vs D conditions. In the end, only garnering 11% of the vote with a sweeping lose to Ross’ 48% percent.

In Conclusion,
during Randy Wilkinson’s time as a public servant, he has carried himself in an inexcusable way that is not worthy of trust or respect. With that said, he is not fit to hold any form of elected office. And as a School Board Member, he will be an enemy to Charter Schools which preform exceedingly well in Polk and specifically in the Lake Wales Area. I, Nicholas Bique, implore to you, my loyal readers, that you defend the dignity of the institution of education and democracy and keep Wilkinson OFF the school board on August 26th and vote for Hazel Sellers.

One teen’s take on our economy

So… information was released stating the economy contracted by 1%, but apparently it’s “no big deal.” Ridiculous.

If our economy is so weak that bad weather can make it spiral down, then there’s a big problem. However, severe winter is not all to blame.
I found it notable to add that with the implementation of the healthcare law, ObamaCare, the economy shrank. Of course it would. When people’s insurance bills become higher and more expensive than they were before to pay for those who don’t have to pay, less money is going to be spent on consumer goods.

This is (as monthly reports have come in stating consumer spending is down) catastrophic to the economy, since 2/3 of the economy is supported by consumer spending.

The continuation and further redistribution of wealth also prohibits growth. A lack of an incentive to work lingers, because people can choose to live off of welfare rather than work.

I’ve probably said this before**, but it’s worth saying again:

1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it!
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.

So how to fix it?

Of course, the big thing is to cut spending drastically. However, that can’t be done overnight; a quick reduction of trillions of dollars swiftly would be so shocking to the fragile economy, there would probably be another recession. Like with someone addicted to some drug or medication, it has to be reduced gradually, less they experience withdraw or shock.
Repeal the Healthcare law. It benefits the minority by hurting the majority. Also, the continuing centralization of government control over many things in our lives is incredibly dangerous.

All it takes is a corrupt leader (not exactly a tyrant, or dictator, but someone corrupted) to make one move, and in the blink of an eye, affect all 320 million of us negatively. Rights can be reduced, bills can be hiked, freedoms can be taken away with the manipulative words of one person.
Reduction in taxes for all (A dream!). If government spending ever gets under control, reducing taxes for every class would be beneficial. If citizens have more money in their pockets instead of giving it to government, it can be spent on consumer goods and boost consumer spending, thus bringing up the economy greatly. (As stated before, those 2/3!)

Bring back jobs here. Re-shore. Make it more attractive to businessmen to keep their companies here rather than in poorer countries overseas.
Energy independence. Why not have the Keystone Pipeline? Fracking is booming currently; keep it up. Using our own resources means we won’t have to buy it from other countries.

Complete overhaul of the welfare system. An outstanding number of people living off of food stamps and taxpayer money is never good for any country. It creates dependency and reduces revenue. Make it more difficult to get on welfare.

A Memorial Day Reflection

For almost 238 years, America has enjoyed liberty and freedom but not without a price.

The problem with those numbers are that they can’t express the tears of broken families. Sons without fathers. Daughters without mothers. Grandfathers who can never tell their stories and Grandmothers who can’t show her grand kids the uniform she served in. Numbers can only paint you a very small picture of the horrors of war, of what is necessary to preserve the union. But it can’t show you the bonds made, the laughs shared, of the boot camp days or the days on leave in a foreign country for the weekend. The military men and women who came before us knew that it takes the best and brightest to protect the ideals, values and virtues this nation was founded upon.

Today on Memorial Day, we’ve failed those men and women.
•Our finances are far out of hand.
•Veterans are dying waiting for medical care.
•Students are being denied a proper primary education.
•Their government is spying on its citizens.

We have let them down.
Such a young nation with such potential. Our best days can be still in the horizons if we make a conscious effort as a nation to perfect this union together. We owe everything to those who gave everything.

With the same optimism as Reagan we can go forward an tackle our problems head on. United We Stand. Divided We Fall. We need to turn to leaders before us to solve the problems we face today. To the men and women who believed that America was a City on the Shinning Hill.

Saira Blair: 17 Year Old Politician

Ms. Blair of West Virgina is making waves around the country as she defeats Republican Incumbent in House Primary just in time before High School Graduation.

Who is Saira Blair?

She’s a Senior at Hedgesville High School and President of the Key Club. Her Father, Craig, is an Electrician, Current State Senator and formally held the district seat in which his daughter is currently seeking.

How’d she win?

For starters, she went door to door, put ads in the paper and sent out hand written notes. She got her friends and fellow classmates involved with her classmates and encourage voting age students in her community to make their voices heard. Not to mention she out spent her opponent 2:1.

Ms. Blair is on the path to become the youngest Delegate in state history- seeing as her district is favorably Republican. Heck, even her Democratic opponent, Layne Diehl, is impressed with her passion for Civic Service at her tender age.

“There are too many young people who aren’t paying attention to what’s going on,” adds Denny Hedges, who works in auto sales in Hedgesville and supported Blair. “She evidently has the right views because she defeated an incumbent, so people are definitely ready for a change.”

What’s Bique got to say about all of this?

It’s people like Saira Blair that give me hope for my party and our country. Too many teens my age are blinded by the small realm of campus life that the turn a blind eye to our ever changing world. A world that demands their attention because it is one of uncertainty.

Across the seas, the sovereignty of countries are being infringed – religious persecution is rampant. At home our health care system is in shambles – our boarders are unprotected – our children: unprepared for adult life as they are made slaves to the state under loan debt and the job market isn’t prepared for them, seeing how many people two, three or four times their age are desperately seeking work to the bills.

Ms. Blair is a beacon of hope for everyone because she is being the change she wants to see in the world. We should all take note. It’s not very often that we get to see a young person take charge of their community’s future. And for Teenage Republicans around the country – she serves as proof that the work they do is not in vain. The ridicule they might face at school won’t compare with sense of accomplishment in protecting the Principles of the Silent Majority. Of they right.

Ms. Blair had this to say about the youth of her generation:

“It’s wonderful that my generation is learning they don’t have to be 40, 50 or 60 to realize these conservative values benefit them.”

Controversy of the Week: A&E vs Duck Dynasty (Reader Discretion is Advised)

Haven’t heard the news?
Phil Robertson has been “placed… under hiatus from filming indefinitely” from the show based around his family and their business.

Why?

In an interview for GQ’s January 2014 issue , he made these comments

“Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

If you know Hollywood/Mainstream Media Politics, criticizing homosexuals is the big NO NO!

We’ve seen feuds between companies such as Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks over the issue; even singer-song writers have tackled the issue as well.

So who is Phil Robertson?

He was a poor farming boy born and raised in Louisiana, the Robertsons lived in a restored log cabin and he was an up and coming football player at Louisiana Tech and ahead of Terry Bradshaw in the 1970 NFL Draft. But he chose his true love over sports…

Hunting.

“The quarterback playing ahead of me, Phil Robertson, loved hunting more than he loved football. He’d come to practice directly from the woods, squirrel tails hanging out of his pockets, duck feathers on his clothes. Clearly he was a fine shot, so no one complained too much.”

“According to Phil’s autobiography—a ghostwritten book he says he has never read—he spent his days after Tech doing odd jobs and his evenings getting drunk, chasing tail, and swallowing diet pills and black mollies, a form of medicinal speed. In his midtwenties, already married with three sons, a piss-drunk Robertson kicked his family out of the house. “I’m sick of you,” he told his wife, Kay. But Robertson soon realized the error of his ways, begged Kay to come back, and turned over his life to Jesus Christ.”

He starts Duck Commanders and the rest is tv history.

A+E issued the following statement: “We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty. His personal views in no way reflect those of A+E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely.”

From The Washington Examiner:

The church that the Robertsons attend and where Phil Robertson is an elder, White’s Ferry Road Church of Christ in West Monroe, La., has received hundreds of phone calls from fans across the country, said Mike Kellett, the senior pastor.

“It seems to me people are tolerant of views except Christianity,” Kellett said. “I don’t have anything to say about the wording in it. I would express things differently, but that’s Phil.”

The Robertsons are part of Churches of Christ, a conservative denomination of 13,000 U.S. congregations that says that “God remains consistent in His condemnation of homosexuality as He does for all other sins.”

GLAAD (formally known as the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) representative Wilson Cruz responded to Robertson’s remarks with a statement:

“Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe. He clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans — and Americans — who support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples.

“Phil’s decision to push vile and extreme stereotypes is a stain on A&E and his sponsors who now need to reexamine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families.”

Even Sarah Palin even took to twitter

“Free speech is endangered species; those “intolerants” hatin’ & taking on Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing personal opinion take on us all”

What’s Bique Got To Say About All Of This?

In my humble opinion,
A&E was stupid to air a show about a Family with strong biblical values if they are “Champions of the LGBT community”. It would be like if the Robertsons were a Jewish or Musilm family and made the same comments for the magazine (GQ). There also seems to be a certain ignorance on the issue of Marriage, Government, and Religion. My point being that A&E agreed to air the show knowing well that the Robertson’s are deeply rooted in their faith. And they should know that most religious doctrine frown upon homosexuality.

Now I will venture to say that this is not a real first amendment issue. As an employee of A&E, his comments and actions reflect on the company. A&E is not a Government institution. They have the right to take that course of action.

Now as his comment has consequences, so does the actions of A&E.

Let’s take this into consideration.

“Walmart announced at their annual shareholders meeting that the best-selling item of apparel for both men and women this year was the reality show’s T-shirt, according to Forbes.
Forbes writer Claire O’Connor said: ‘When I was down in Arkansas for this Walmart meeting, you really do marvel at the amount of people who are wearing these Duck Dynasty T-shirts and hats.
‘There are kids pajamas, there is camo bedding and you probably won’t be surprised to hear that they sell Duck Dynasty prayer devotionals.’
This also includes the No. 1 country album on Billboard for the month of November, Duck the Halls.”

Duck Dynasty has become one of the most popular, profitable, and beloved shows on TV. It’s the family friendly alternative to other reality TV shows surrounding promiscuity. Hence why this will hurt A&E more than justify the LGBT community.

And that’s not all..

Glenn Beck offered these words to the Robertsons’

“You will either be out, or you will be the most powerful people the country has ever seen on television,” Beck said. “You already have all of the juice you’re ever gonna get … And if you take a stand and they fire you … we’ll be on the phone.”

“We would be proud to have you,” he added.

This is a very exciting invitation that took twitter like storm, resulting in the hashtag: #DuckDynastyOnTheBlaze

So
In Conclusion

The Robertsons’ are here to stay with or without Phil and on or off of A&E.

This controversy has only made them more popular and A&E less tolerant of Christians.

So let’s get this straight… (No pun intended)
A&E wants others to be tolerant of the LGBT Community but they can not be tolerant of the views and beliefs of practically every religious doctrine. It is only in the Middle East where homosexuals are being persecuted. You can ask any well read Christian and they’ll tell you that Homosexuality is no more worthy of damnation in hell than lying, stealing, lust, adultery, and yes just like Phil said bestiality. So, speaking as member of the Church of Christ, Phil is not comparing the two acts of Homosexuality and Bestiality, but rather than placing it in the big picture of man’s imperfections compared to God. I think the problem is that many non-Christians don’t understand it because they don’t wear the same glasses, we don’t have the same perspective. That’s the real issue. Respecting the perspective of others. For Phil, this is about saving souls so that they may rejoice at the return of his Christ. In no way is he demonizing the LGBT community. Even in these comments:

“It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

It’s, perhaps, a lack of understanding or perspective of homosexuals. Obviously there’s more than just sex but he’s trying convey his own perspective and opinion. I couldn’t find any mallace or hate in his comments. Now were they unkempt or ill-mannered? Indeed. But once again, perspective. Growing up in the Deep South can not compare to the culture of Massachusetts or Califiornia. So, I think we can all find the tolerance in ourselves to respect the perspective of one another.

Why America ISN’T “Ready for Hillary”

Mrs. Clinton has some explaining to the American People to do on her record as a Senator.

When it comes to the Budget, Mrs. Clinton wanted to protect the next generation by paying off national debt. (Aug 2000) Yet she voted NO on paying down federal debt by rating programs’ effectiveness (Mar 2007), voted NO on $40B in reduced federal overall spending (Dec 2005), and Co-sponsored bills totaling $502B in spending thru 2005. (Oct 2006)

When it comes to our national security she Voted YES on loosening restrictions on cell phone wiretapping. (Oct 2001) Then voted NO on extending the PATRIOT Act’s wiretap provision. (Dec 2005) THEN Voted YES on reauthorizing the PATRIOT Act. (Mar 2006)
Don’t worry we’ll get to Benghazi later!

She Voted NO on requiring photo ID to vote in federal elections. (Jul 2007)

Well she didn’t put up much of a fight to stop it!

As Secretary of State I have a bad felling her legacy is wrapped up in quote…

Back on the 11th Anniversary of 9/11, an American consulate in Benghazi, Lybia was attacked by a military group and this wasn’t just some upset crowd. No, they had ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADES, they weren’t there just “out for a walk one night decided to go kill some Americans.” No this had to have been thoroughly planned. So how could she and the Obama Administration be so oblivious to this, not to mention the possible neglect on their behalf in the days leading up to the attack.

So now she’s got four dead Americans on her hands.

Mrs. Clinton doesn’t have much to run on, except Gay Rights (yet in 2004: defended traditional marriage; then in 2006:voted for same-sex.), Abortion… Wait.. We have to stop.

Her stance on abortion is uber confusing!

Potential for life begins at conception, but don’t intrude. (Apr 2008)
Respect Roe v. Wade, but make adoptions easier too. (Nov 2006)
Must safeguard constitutional rights, including choice. (Oct 2000) (just not a right to life)

Is she really someone we want to be the leader of the free world?

I would hope not.
